Noise-Sensitive Final Approach Trajectory Optimization for Runway-Independent Aircraft
نویسندگان
چکیده
Runway-independent aircraft have been proposed to increase passenger throughput at crowded urban airports via the use of vertiports or stub runways. Simultaneous noninterfering (SNI) traffic procedures will minimize impact on existing fixed-wing traffic. This paper introduces a SNI trajectory generation algorithm that treats existing fixed-wing traffic corridors as impenetrable obstacles and optimizes a multiple parameter cost function that includes ground noise, fuel, and time. Flight envelope limits are represented as search-space constraints, and computational efficiency is gained through an empirical noise model and uniform-cost search strategy. Example final approach trajectories illustrate the effects of airspace obstacle placement and varied optimization function weights. † Graduate Research Assistant, Aerospace Engineering ‡ Assistant Professor, Aerospace Engineering

متن کاملA Statistical Analysis of the Aircraft Landing Process
Managing operations of the aircraft approach process and analyzing runway landing capacity, utilization and related risks require detailed insight into the stochastic characteristics of the process. These characteristics can be represented by probability distributions. The focus of this study is analyzing landings on a runway operating independent of other runways making it as a single runway. ...

متن کاملOptimized Fuzzy Logic for Nonlinear Vibration Control of Aircraft Semi-active Shock Absorber with Input Constraint (TECHNICAL NOTE)
Landing impact and runway unevenness have proximate consequence on performance of landing gear system and conduce to discomfort of passengers and reduction of the pilot’s capability to control aircraft. Finally, vibrations caused by them result in structure fatigue. Fuzzy logic controller is used frequently in different applications because of simplicity in design and implementation. In the pre...
